What to know about golfing in Alberta?

Alberta has a five- to six-month golf season.

The average golf season in Alberta runs from April to October, depending on the weather. Courses in southern Alberta open sooner, while courses in the mountains and in northern Alberta open later.

Most courses require proper golf attire: collared shirts, tailored pants or shorts, and appropriate footwear. Some courses are more casual. Check the course website before you go.

The course at Fort Macleod is Alberta's oldest golf course, dating back to 1890.

The eleventh hole at the Nursery Golf and Country Club in Lacombe is the longest hole in Canada. It is a par 6,782 yards.
